Newly
formed Los Angeles Pop Art is dedicated to building a bridge
between art of today
and an art form that is centuries old. Founded by Joseph Leibovic,
Los Angeles Pop Art involves an art form commonly known as
Micrography. This art form has been around for centuries
and has primarily
been used by artists of Israeli decent, is the style creating
images strictly using the words that tell the story of that
specific image. In early 2004, as Joseph was looking for an artist to carry
out this challenge when he was introduced to the artistry
of Carson
Grier. Carson was able to share the vision of Los Angeles
Pop Art, and immediately set out to tackle this awesome
artistic
challenge. After the first samples were finished, they were
convinced that they have stumbled across something that has
never been
done before. Initial feedback was incredible, which solidified
that fact that they have succeeded in their task. The question
had changed from "can it be done?" to "which one
should be worked on next?" A partnership was formed.
Los Angeles Pop Art is currently busy securing licensing
for the
rights to screenplay, musical lyrics, and artists. Negotiations
have been opened with such studios and artists as: Universal
Pictures, Sony, Dreamworks, Warner Brothers, MGM,
and Lenny Kravitz. While
Los Angeles Pop Art awaits the finalization of licensing
deals, they have expanded their portfolio to include historical
icons as well. Images of Jesus Christ, Ronald Reagan,
and Scarface are completed and ready for sale.
