Roger
Gordon,
Artist
Roger
creates life
drawings and paintings in a studio setting with
a live model. using mixed-media: charcoal,
carbon pencil,
conte, pastel and pen
and ink, in combination and separately on tea or coffee stained
paper.
Oil paintings
always begin as direct renderings to canvas, his subjects
are then photographed for future reference, based
on the initial sketch. Because his oil painting process takes
several days, models cannot always return for multiple sittings
and therefor the photos are used as an intermediary reference
until the painting is completed.
Portraits
usually require one to two sittings; Painting a portrait
is a step -by-step process begining with sketches from life
of my subject in the studio, then using reference photos.
Roger uses a variety of mediums oil on canvas, watercolor,
pen
and ink and pastels.
Prices
vary depending on complexity and medium. Drawings
and paintings on his website are available for purchase.
