Charlotte Burgmans
Artist

Charlotte's Bio

Charlotte Burgmans was born in 1964 in The Netherlands. She grew up in a quaint village in the Southern part of The Netherlands. Her creativity was clearly visible even at a very young age.

Charlotte took drawing and painting classes from the age of eight. Though, Charlotte had initially a career in marketing, she was always attracted to art. While she worked as a marketing manager, Charlotte founded a design company.

Charlotte has designed greeting cards, book covers, and illustrated magazines as well as designed house styles and logos for various companies. The company Cartesse awarded a series of her greetings cards and brought them to the European market. She continued following art classes during her whole life.

Charlotte has traveled around the globe and lived in several different countries in Europe and in the USA. Her paintings have been strongly influenced by her international experiences and her contact with many native populations, each with their own distinct cultures. Her oil and acrylic paintings are different, inspiring and contemporary.

Charlotte has a lot of energy, which she transfers in her paintings. Charlotte’s paintings are sold in Europe, the USA and South America.

Charlotte's Statement

"My intention as an artist is to inspire people about relationships and feelings. I work mainly from my intuition and try to make my paintings interesting and challenging. I leave details out, to stimulate the imagination and to radiate inspiration. I like to use extremes. I often use a lot of texture since it gives the painting a 'strong' image. On the other hand, I make very smooth and translucent paintings. By doing so you get a more 'fragile' look. While I paint, I have a solitaire dialogue, and feel the freedom I need to create."
