LIVE AT THE CUP

Chris Thayer
September 4th, 2010 ~ 8 — 10 pm

Chris's vocal debut came in the form of 'Danny Zuko' in grease at the age of 17. He immediately began working on his guitar playing and soon began performing with the river city blues band, among others, for the next five or six years.

In the early nineties, he helped form the band, Stillwater Black. They signed a record contract with Cleaves Entertainment and received moderate radio attention locally, playing shows with a diverse list of major label bands such as No Doubt, Robin Trower, Save Ferris, Dishwalla, Reel Big Fish, The Skeletones, Walter Trout, Drain S.T.H., and Dickless Jones. Stillwater Black, however, disbanded in 1997.

Chris then began performing as a solo artist, Headlining as well as opening for several national acts, including James Taylor, the Bacon Brothers (featuring Kevin Bacon), Styx, Little River Band, Fabulous Thunderbirds, Rockapella, Rod Piazza & The Mighty Flyers, to name a few. In 2003, Chris released the "Phoenix" cd and toured the western U.S. in support of it, including an appearance on the NBC morning show in Eugene, Oregon.

Chris won an award by the ACTF for his original musical compositions on California State University San Bernardino Theatre's production of 'Love Tapes.'

Chris continues to perform all over the southern U.S. in support of Chasing Venus. TWO songs from Chasing Venus will be featured in the upcoming short film, MY BUS STOP.
