Randy Rusk, a native Southern
Californian, has performed music professionally for thirty-four
years. He is a music professor at Saddleback Community
College where he teaches classes in both song writing
and guitar playing. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree
in music composition from the University of California
Irvine. He has also attended the Guitar Institute of
Technology and studied with jazz guitar legend Ron Eschete.
Randy began writing and performing his original songs
and musical compositions early in his career. He has
performed solo and in duos, trios and full bands. His
musical diversity covers folk, rock, pop, new wave, new
age, fusion, reggae, latin jazz, country and classical.
But at the core Randy has always been a singer/songwriter.
Playing original music, he has opened for such musical
artists as America, Poco, Billy Vera and the Beaters,
Toots and the Maytals, and Ziggy Marley.
Teaching music to all ages both individually and in college
classes for the last thirty-four years has allowed me to
witness the transforming power of music in the lives of
my students. I have dedicated my life to education and
am proud to call myself a teacher. |
