About Scarlet O'Haywire:
Brittany grew up in a small town in Southern California where there was not much of a music scene. Her love for music started fairly late in her teens when she up and decided to pick up a guitar and teach herself to play it. Brittany graduated High School and went on to college close to home at the University of Redlands with the intention of landing a “real job.” Surrounded by an amazing group of college musicians, she began to play her guitar more and even braved the masses at an occasional open mic night. Playing these shows gave Scarlet the opportunity to get some valuable feedback from strangers. As one fan put it after a recent Long Beach performance; "Scarlet has a voice that just takes you back." Back to what you might ask? Brittany herself lists influences that range from Bob Dylan to Fiona Apple, Johnny Cash to Patsy Cline, and of course Janis Joplin. I guess she just takes you back to something you love listening to. Brittany has since been playing with a company of brilliant musicians including Good Religion, calling her act Scarlet O'Haywire. She is in the midst of recording her debut album, and intends to release it in early 2007.
