| December 17, 2005 | Last Saturday night was absolutely wonderful being entertained by Kerry Getz. It was her last performance before going to India for a few weeks. We couldn’t help but smile after listening to Kerry. Her voice wrapped our hearts in warmth. Just when her song brought a tear to your eye, the beat goes up, the melancholy mood changes and your toes are tapping again. It was great to see the audience participation. What can we say…… she is awesome! |
| December 3, 2005 | I don’t know about the rest of you but Steve has not stopped singing the Trojan fight song for USC! Okay, okay I know he is extremely happy that they won but, I would much rather listen to Brooke Ramel. And we did, when Brooke treated us to our first holiday concert last Saturday night. She touched our hearts and made the evening very special. We even sang along to some of our favorite Christmas songs. Just when I thought it was safe, Brooke told us she was a newly born USC fan. And now I still get voice mails from my brother singing the fight song. Oh my. This Saturday night will be a continuing celebration with
Kirsten performing. The last time she appeared was
on my birthday so she brings back happy memories
and of course her fantastic voice. I hope we will see you there. The heaters
are keeping us toasty along with the hot drinks and warm smiles. |
| November 26, 2005 | Saturday night was amazing
with a full house and great entertainment by Alec Marken
and his
band the Deep Stirrings (Kenny-base, Chris-violin,
Tom-drums). Alec has a unique folk-rock style with rhythms of
Ireland in the mix. Truly a wonderful evening of energy and audience
participation. We can’t wait to have Alec back on a Saturday
eve. (But you don’t have to wait to meet Alec-he is here
every Friday for Swing ‘n’ Java, so stop by) And there is never a long wait for more great entertainment at The Cup. Brooke Ramel will be back by popular demand to start the holiday season on December 3rd. She will be doing a special holiday show for you. Come early because Brooke always packs the house. |
| November 19, 2005 | Saturday night we had a packed house during Live at The Cup. There was a great turn out for Marianne Keith with standing room only. Marianne will be back with us in January and we are always excited to have her at The Cup. |
| November 12, 2005 | It’s time to Celebrate! We are so excited to have Michael Shelton back with us this next Saturday. Michael was the first entertainer we had back on June 18th, 2005, to kick off ‘Live At The Cup’. This is a special occasion so please come by on Saturday to help us celebrate and welcome Michael back. |
| November 5, 2005 | Everyone stayed warm last night during Jenn Grinels visit. She started out with a mellow set that washed away any stress from the week. Once we were relaxed Jenn let it go with a voice of pure power and quality, standing back from the microphone she didn’t seem to need; AMAZING. She sure had us moving in our seats. We don’t know where that voice came from but we're sure am glad it landed at The Cup. Jenn was pure pleasure and so sweet. Some of our guests drove in from Huntington Beach as she was ending her performance. Not to disappoint them, Jenn offered to play a few more tunes so we had an extra treat. We can’t wait to have her back again. |
| October 29, 2005 | Adrina Thorpe was our entertainer
last Saturday and it was a perfect way to end our week. Her
bio states those who listen,
get addicted to Adrina’s music. Well I did. She had a very
peaceful sound that touched you deep inside. It took me back
years ago when I spent time in Europe, riding a gondola down
the canals of Venice. The night was still, clear and had a slight
chill. Her music made everything disappear for a moment as it
took me back. We can't wait for next Saturday! |
| October 22, 2005 | Timothy
Daniels has been touring the East Coast
and made his 1st West coast tour date at The Cup, Saturday the
22nd. Brett Hobin (bass guitarist) flew in from New York to accompany
Tim in a special appearance. They entertained us not only with
their music but their funny banter. The guys were a blast. |
